Lorraine Genell White Moore's Obituary
Lorraine Genell White Moore, age 94, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013. She was born July 20, 1919 in Roosevelt, Oklahoma, to parents Walter Henry and Elizabeth Idyll Pleasants White.
Lorraine moved to Apache, Oklahoma at the age of five. There she attended and graduated from Apache Schools. She married Ben Moore on Dec. 10, 1939 in Oklahoma City. The couple made their home in Apache, and she worked at the First National Bank of Apache for 28 years. At the age of 78, she moved to Fayetteville. Loved by friends and family from Apache and Fayetteville as well as across the country, she was an excellent baker and well known for her cinnamon rolls and coconut cream pie.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Ethel Vickers; and five brothers, Jim, Cecil, Carl, Boyd “Doc” and Matt White. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Barbara Moore of Fayetteville, Ark.; two grandchildren, Ben David Moore and wife Daphne of Bentonville; and Laura Keese and husband Spencer of Hot Springs; and five beloved great-grandchildren, Cooper, Jackson and Rachael Keese; and John David and Ben Davis Moore.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at First Baptist Church of Fayetteville, Arkansas under the direction of Moore’s Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Douglas Falknor; and at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20 at First Baptist Church of Apache, Oklahoma officiated by Dr. Rue Scott. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Apache, Oklahoma, under the direction of Crews Funeral Home in Apache.
