Louise Virginia Pennebaker's Obituary
Louise Virginia (Harbour) Pennebaker, 88, of Rogers, Arkansas passed away on January 1, 2023 in her sleep. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Cloa Alice (Shelton) Harbour and James Elmer Harbour. She was born in Mitchell, Arkansas and graduated from Olney Springs High School in Colorado. She worked as a telephone switchboard operator and supervisor, furniture salesperson, bank teller and bookkeeper. She is survived by her husband William Edward Pennebaker of Rogers, three daughters and one son: Beverly Chardell Clites and husband Ron of Wichita, Kansas; Kim Ellen Cochran and husband Jeff of Omaha, Nebraska; Melody Ann Wright and husband Danny of Bentonville, Arkansas; Edward Eugene Pennebaker and wife Carol Corning of Clinton, Arkansas. Other survivors include brother James Larry Harbour, eight grandchildren, numerous great grand children, and nieces and nephews.
Louise was known for her gentle spirit and for her lacemaking, crochet, knitting, and fabric work. She was a member of the Dogwood Lace Guild. The genealogy of the Harbour and Pennebaker family lines were extensively researched by Louise and she enjoyed communicating with the many relatives she found through her research. Her faith was an important part of her life as a member of the Rogers First Church of the Nazarene where a Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Saturday, January 7 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dogwood Lace Guild, and mailed to 100 S. 28th Street, Rogers, AR 72758, or you may donate to a charity of your choosing in her honor. Her ashes will be inurned at Rogers Cemetery in a private ceremony.
