Lousie 'Mama Lou' Whitfield Dunlap's Obituary
Louise Whitfield Dunlap, 98 of Fayetteville, AR passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 in Fayetteville. She was born August 12, 1914 in Harris, Arkansas to Paris Rhea “P.R.” Green and Gladys Mae (Johnson) Green.
Mama Lou as she was known was a homemaker, a graduate of University High, a Chi Omega at The University of Arkansas, a 50 year member of P.E.O. Sisterhood, a volunteer at the VA Hospital as a Grey Lady, and a very active member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and served on numerous committees.
She was preceded in death by her first husband W.C. Whitfield, Jr, her second husband: Errett Dunlap, Jr, and granddaughter; Linda LuAnn Jones.
She is survived by two sons; William C. “Bill” Whitfield and wife Ruth of Lowell, AR, Robert G. “Bob” Whitfield of Fayetteville, AR, one daughter; Anne W. Jones and husband Gerald of Fayetteville, AR, one stepson; Tom Dunlap and wife Nancy of Ardmore, OK, five grandchildren; Steve Jones and wife Pam of Fayetteville, AR, Mike Jones and wife Deanna of Springdale, AR, Cindy Martin of Fayetteville, AR, Cheri Maier of Cincinnati, OH, Robert Whitfield II of Fayetteville, AR, and twelve great grandchildren; Dianna, David, Adam, Alexis, Travis, Josh, Tierison, Bianca, Ashlyn, Alanna, Ryan, and Drew.
Visitation will be held on Monday January 28th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 29th at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville with Dr. Andrew Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund.
