M. Hazel Parsley's Obituary
Hazel Parsley, age 87, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at North Hills Life and Rehabilitation in Fayetteville. She was born on April 20, 1932, in Asher, Arkansas, to Melvin and Mary (Parker) Roach. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Parsley; their daughter, Margie Ann Parsley; her two brothers, Junior and Nolan Roach; and her sister, Helen Roach.
Hazel was a devoted wife to Kenneth for 61 years and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an active member of her church where she taught Sunday School and VBS for many years. She and Kenneth were avid bluegrass fans, traveling all around the area to shows and making lots of friends along the way. She was loved by all her family, her church family, her bluegrass family (especially her Brentwood group), and her North Hills family. Grandma Hazel, as she came to be known by many, will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her son, Mike Parsley and wife Michelle of Fayetteville; her daughter, Donna Lukas and husband Mark of Fayetteville; her brother, Leon Roach and wife Millie; her sister, Cleo Pelfrey and husband Don; six grandchildren, Kristin Carlton and husband Mark, Jessica Kasper and husband Matt, Brooke Parsley, Kristina Parsley, Delaynee Parsley and Cody Lukas and wife Emily; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00pm on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Moore’s Chapel Funeral Home at 206 W. Center Street, Fayetteville, AR 72701. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, May 24, 2019, at Sulphur City Baptist Church at 17472 E. Black Oak Rd., Fayetteville, AR 72701. Interment to follow at Patrick Cemetery in Patrick, Arkansas.
