Margaret Campbell Scott's Obituary
Margaret Campbell Scott 91, Fayetteville, AR
Margaret Campbell Scott passed away on December 30, 2024 at age 91 in Fayetteville, AR.
Margy was born in Owenton, KY on April 2, 1933 to Roy and Mary Hall Campbell.
Margy grew up in Fort Mitchell, KY and is the second of four children. Margy met her beloved husband Lieutenant ColonelFrank Scott while attending the University of Kentucky in Lexington. After they married, they welcomed three sons Frank Jr., Mark, and Brad Scott into their family. Margy was an officer’s wife and raised her sons on military bases all over the world while Frank served three tours in the Vietnam and Korean wars. As an officer’s wife, Margy was responsible for hosting events for military families; hosting was something she both enjoyed and excelled at. Upon his retirement from the military, Margy and Frank moved to Conway, AR, before settling permanently in Fayetteville, AR where she would spend the remainder of her days.
Margy was a member of Fellowship Bible church of Fayetteville, a member of the Perennial Garden Club, a member of Town Club, and a volunteer at Washington Regional Hospital. More than anything else though, she was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a doting and supportive grandmother to her six grandchildren. Margy will be remembered for her infectious laughter, her candor, her hospitality, and her unrelenting love for her family.
Margy was preceded in death by her husband Frank Scott, and her grandson Mark Korte Scott.
Margy leaves behind three sons: Frank Jr. and his wife Kristy (Fayetteville, AR); Mark and his wife Tamara (Utilla, HN); and Brad and his wife Nancy (Fayetteville, AR); Six grandchildren: Sarah and Ben Pape (Austin, TX); Bo and Lauren Scott (Phoenix, AZ); Jake and Rachel Scott (Fayetteville, AR); Tori Hittle; Sam Scott, John Scott (Fayetteville, AR). And eight great-grandchildren (Ephraim, Lennon, Ruby, Lucille, Sophia, Shepherd, Olivia, India); and one sister, Dorothy Hovious (Madisonville, KY).
Margy will be buried alongside her husband of 60 years, Frank, at the Fayetteville National Cemetery during a private ceremony on the morning of January 7th.
