Margie Gaston Smith's Obituary
Margie Gaston Smith was born in August 5,1933 in Rusk County TX. She passed from this life to her eternal home on July 21, 2022. As a young woman working for the county bookmobile, she was introduced to Gene Smith who was attending Texas Baptist Seminary in Henderson. After a brief courtship, they were married on April 14, 1955. Together they served churches in Texas and Arkansas during their 66 years together. Gene preceded her in death on January 6, 2022. She was a supportive wife and loving mother.
She is survived by her children, Regina Green (Tom) of Fayetteville, AR, Reggie Smith (Carla) of Jonesboro, AR and 4 grandchildren: Jonathan Green, Benjamin Green, Katelyn Green Myers (Brad), and Matthew Smith (Sybil). Her surviving siblings are Debbie Gaston Shirley and Edwin Gaston (Neva Nell) all of Texas.
Visitation will be from 10-11 AM Tuesday, July 26 at Nelson-Berna Funeral home in Fayetteville with burial at Fayetteville National Cemetery at 11:30 AM.
