Marguerite Ellen Wingeier Bowles' Obituary
Mrs. Marguerite Ellen Wingeier Bowles, 88 of Springdale, AR passed away Friday, October 12, 2007 in Springdale, AR. She was born August 17, 1919 in Sioux City, Iowa to Paul and Nellie (Girard) Wingeier.
During WWII Marguerite was one of the first women to work in the machine shop for Lockheed Martin in southern California. She also worked on B-17 bombers in Cheyenne, WY, and worked for the war department in New Mexico during her husband's four-year tour. She was an active member of Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville where she was an office volunteer, as well as a volunteer for Washington County Habitat for Humanity.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Fred "Tom" Bowles, her brother, Jim Wingeier, and her sister Joy Wingeier Watts.
She is survived by one son Michael Bowles and his wife Leanne Bowles of Fayetteville, AR, one brother, Bill Wingeier of Salt Lake City, UT, and five grandchildren, Eileen Bowles Jennings of Fayetteville, AR, Elizabeth Bowles of Russellville, AR, Michelle Bowles, Katie Roberts, and Bryce Roberts all of Fayetteville.
Memorial services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, October 20, 2007 in the chapel of Central United Methodist Church with Reverend Bryan Fink officiating.
