Marie Lily Langford's Obituary
Marie Lily Langford, 87 of Fayetteville died Friday in Springdale. She was born March 10, 1926 in Wichita, Kansas the daughter of Walter L. Culwell and Reba Marie Morelock Culwell.
She married James Langford on January 8, 1944 and gave birth to daughter Patricia while Jim was overseas fighting in the Battle of the Bulge.
Marie worked at home raising a disabled daughter and 3 other children. She loved virtually all living creatures. She would take in stray cats and dogs; put food out for birds, possums, and skunks. She loved walks in the woods, gardening, painting, especially nature.
She did volunteer work at Bread of Life, Meals on Wheels, Shiloh Museum and other places. She was generous with her time and money to causes she felt were important.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years James Langford of the home; son, Charles Langford of Long Beach, Mississippi; 2 daughters, Dr. Susan Hunter of Independence, West Virginia, Patricia Ann Langford of Springdale, 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11:00AM, Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Springdale.
The family request that memorials take the form of donation to the Bread of Life c/o First United Methodist Church, 208 W Emma Ave. Springdale, AR 72764.
