Marilyn Janette Buchanan's Obituary
Marilyn Janette Buchanan, age 79, of Alpena, Arkansas, passed away on November 2, 2025, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born on July 29, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, to Herbert Leopold Brauns and Louise Augusta Gadow Brauns. Marilyn married Russell Buchanan on July 17, 1965, in Rockford, Illinois. She graduated from nursing school and worked as a registered nurse. Marilyn spent time working in hospitals, home health, and on the Gila River Indian Reservation in Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Louise Brauns; husband, Russell Buchanan; daughter, Robin Buchanan; son, Brandon Buchanan; granddaughter, Kayla Buchanan; and brother-in-law, Les Goings.
Marilyn is survived by sons, Todd Buchanan and wife Beth of Valders, Wisconsin, and Scott Buchanan and wife Ladonna of Alpena, Arkansas; granddaughter, Kristen Newberg; great grandchildren, Reese Newberg, Aiden Newberg, Greta Newberg, Jace Buchanan, Luna Buchanan, and Brandon Buchanan; sister, Jo Goings of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
