Marion Carpenter Tinsley, 72
Marion Carpenter Tinsley, 9 Jan 1937--4 Nov 2009. Marion was the beloved son of Muriel Houston and Mildred Harriet Carpenter Tinsley of Paragould, Arkansas. A 1954 graduate of Paragould High School, he served 6 years as an Administrative Specialist in the US Air Force where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of the Arkansas Highway Police, and worked for the State of Arkansas in his final years.
Marion was deeply loved by his children Dr. Sherlita Amler (Dr. Robert) of New York, Sherlene Rice (Tommy) of Georgia, Marion Jr “Buzz” (Ina) of Maryland, Tollece Sutter of Arkansas, Leman Curtis “Coot” (Shannon) of Arkansas, Amber and Alexandra of Missouri, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his former wife of 30 years Nadgerine Dean Foresythe Tinsley, and brothers Jack (Cora) of Illinois, Muriel (Cathy) of Kentucky, and Mike (Sun I) of Texas.
Marion was a friend to all and impacted lives in ways that few others ever do. We are all better for having known and loved Marion. A finer friend exists nowhere.
Any man can be a father, but it takes a special man to be a Dad. Goodbye, Dad. Our lives will always be shaped by you. We love you.
Funeral services will be 11:30 AM, Friday, November 6, 2009 in the chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with a visitation prior to the service from 10:30 AM till 11:30 AM, the family will be present.
