Marion Isabelle Meeks' Obituary
Marion Isabelle Meeks, loving wife and mother, died October 29, 2025, in Rogers, Arkansas. She was born on November 28, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan to Daniel Martin and Irene Macduff Martin.
After graduating from Wyandotte High School, Wyandotte, Michigan, Marion married Robert Lee Meeks before he left for the Korean War in 1950. Robert and Marion had four children. She decided to be a full-time homemaker in order to take care of her children and husband. But as the children grew older, she was able to start writing a weekly column for the Arcata Union Paper, in Arcata, California, called The Bayside Beat. In it she relayed stories and events that occurred during the week in that community. She also did a temporary stint with the US Postal Service delivering mail. With the extra money she purchased the family’s first color TV.
Marion and Robert had a passion for missionary work and traveled both to foreign and domestic mission fields. She was an avid “stamper” and made cards for numerous correspondence to family and friends.
Marion will be remembered as a loving, loyal and devoted wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Robert; four children, Michelle, Suzette, Stephanie and Robert Daniel; thirteen grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, with one great-grandbaby on the way; and her sister, Jessie Falkenburg.
Her memorial service will be held November 7, 2025, at 11am in Rogers Assembly of God, 1710 W. Sycamore St., Rogers, Arkansas 72758.
