Obituary
Martha Daniel, 89, of Rogers, passed away peacefully after a period of declining health on Monday, January 14, 2019. She was the beloved wife of Richard Daniel with whom she celebrated 26 years of marriage. Martha was born December 21st, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the daughter of J. Theodore and Mildred Snyder Olson. She was a graduate of Duff's Iron City Business College and worked for Prudential Insurance. In 1953, she married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Jones following his graduation from West Point.
Martha and Tom celebrated 36 years of marriage, raised five children and left a legacy of wonderful friendships in Pennsylvania, New England, Tennessee and Illinois. Tom passed on in 1989. After an introduction by mutual friends, Martha and Dick were married in 1992. She relocated to Rogers where she made many dear friends. She was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church, Afternoon Circle, PEO, and Book Clubs. She was especially fond of her Bridge Clubs and Bridge partners as well!
Family was most cherished by Martha. She is survived by her beloved children and their families, Thomas (Melanie) Jones of Alabama, Jacalyn (Michael) Berry of Massachusetts, Craig (Vera) Jones of Tennessee, Brian (Jennifer) Jones of Tennessee and Marla (James) Saunders of Massachusetts; her treasured siblings, Emily (John) Hajus and Ted (Pauline) Olson and their families; her precious 13 grandchildren; and six great-grands! Martha's husband Dick survives her, as well as her loving stepchildren, Rick (Nancy), Larry, who predeceased her (Diana), Andrew, Robert, Katie Daniel and their families.
Martha and her family offer our heartfelt appreciation to her faithful and compassionate caregivers. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to a charity of your choice. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11AM. The service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, at the corner of West New Hope and 26th Street, Rogers.
