Marvin Henry Autrey's Obituary
Marvin Henry Autrey, a lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2026, in Bentonville at the age of 92. He was born in Monte Ne on May 20, 1934, to the late Earl Lafate and Ivie Earnest Autrey.
Marvin was a dedicated, hardworking man who spent many years with Diamond International, retiring three decades ago. Outside of work, his happiest moments were spent surrounded by family or embracing the quiet of the outdoors, whether hunting in the woods or casting a line into a favorite fishing hole.
He is reunited in heaven with his parents; his cherished wife, Wanda; his beloved daughter, Sherry Smith of Fort Smith; and his brother, Norman Autrey of Rogers.
His memory will be kept alive by his surviving family: his daughter, Janet Sampier and her husband John of Rogers; his son, Lee Autrey and his wife Meredith of Rogers; his son-in-law, Joe Smith of Fort Smith; and his brother, Jimmy Autrey of Seligman, Missouri. He is also survived by Norman Gier, who lived with Marvin and lovingly helped care for him over the last eight years, becoming just like family. He leaves behind seven grandchildren: Haylee Pierce, Taylor Vaccaro, Aaron Smith, Nathan Smith, Kayla Smith, Amy Autrey, and Elizabeth Autrey Shumaker; as well as ten great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Marvin's life on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Rogers. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Benton County Memorial Park.
