Mary A. Shackelford, 76, of Greenland, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008 in Greenland. She was born July 8, 1932 in Harmony, Arkansas. The daughter of Troy and Sadie (Hanshew) Cowan. She was a homemaker, and a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all whom knew her. She is survived by one daughter; Gayla Layne of Fayetteville, Arkansas, two sons; Tom Shackelford of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Jack Burton of West Fork, Arkansas, one sister; Shirley Heatherly of South Haven, Mississippi, ten grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00PM, Saturday, August 2, 2008 in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with Rev. Ervin Hutchens officiating. Burial will follow in the Baptist Ford Cemetery near Greenland, Arkansas. Visitation will be 5:00PM till 9:00PM, Friday, August 1, 2008 at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 6:00PM till 7:00PM.
