Mary Ellen Bartholomew's Obituary
Mary Bartholomew, 57, of Prairie Grove, died Thursday, May 5, 2011 in Springdale. She was born September 14, 1953 at Prescott, Arizona, the daughter of Jerome and Elizabeth Shaw Rygg.
She was a retired registered nurse and a Christian. She won the Hogeye Marathon three times in 1981, 1982 and 1983. God called our angel home and she graciously answered, serving him now in heaven as she did on earth. Wife, mother, friend and inspiration to all, she graced us with her presence. Her life on earth was filled with immense challenges but she never forgot those she loved. Mary’s greatest joys in life were her husband Bart, her daughter Ashley and her son Seth. She only wanted them to grow and flourish to their full potential and in her absence; her loving husband dedicated his life to her and their children and fulfilled her wishes. Mary taught us how to laugh and how to love. She is free now and in the comfort of God’s arms. We will miss her while knowing we are better for having had her touch our lives.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Bartholomew; a daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Bartholomew of Tucson, AZ; a son, Seth Andrew Bartholomew of Prairie Grove and a sister, Lynne Hart of Bend, OR.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 10 at Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
