Mary Esther (Hansen) Jones' Obituary
Mary Esther (Hansen) Jones of Fayetteville died September 16, 2006 at Fayetteville City Hospital. Mary was born March 02, 1918 in Ball Creek (Madison County) Arkansas. To Rosie Alice (Ridley) and Ole Hansen. Mary's father immigrated to the United States from Denmark and took a job with building the railroad from Fayetteville to St. Paul. There he met and married Rose Alice Ridley. They rented a used Box Car to live in where Mary their first child was born. A sister and two brothers were born to the family in the following years. Mary lived most of her life in Northwest Arkansas and East Oklahoma. Where she raised her four children on her own.
Survivors include one daughter Ruth C. Coffey of Fayetteville, three sons Joe D. Norris and Carl F. Norris both of Fayetteville and Donald R. Norris of Rostal, Germany. Ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and seven great great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at Baptist Ford Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
