Mary Beth, My husband and I lived in Fayetteville as students in 1966-72 and became quite close to Col. Hughes and Dood. We loved visiting them at their home which we called the Holiday Inn West. You were working out of the country then but I think we did meet you once when you were home. Your mom was so funny and your dad so gruff, but only on the surface. She used to tell the funniest stories of their life in the military. They meant a lot to us during those years and I'm saddened by their deaths. I'm so sorry we lost contact with them over the years, but we always will think of them fondly.
