Mary McAlpin's Obituary
Mary Lorene Edwards Wilson McAlpin, 87, of East Prairie, Missouri, passed away on May 9, 2024, in Rogers, Arkansas. She was born on May 5, 1937.
Mary Lou, she was affectionately known, will be deeply missed by her surviving loved ones, including her daughter Bobbi Edwards Smith, son-in-law Michael, granddaughter Mary-Faye Smith McNeal and her husband Vernon, as well as her 7 great-grandchildren - Eleazar, Hannah, Isabella, Neriah, Vernon Michael, Michael, and Aavayah. She is also survived by her sister Margaret Presson Smith Gones and 4 nephews, Steve Smith, Randy Smith, William Paul Presson III, and Jim Presson.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Paul Presson Sr., mother, Lena Thomure Presson, brothers William Paul Presson Jr., Richard Presson, and husbands Eugene Edwards, Patrick Wilson, and William McAlpin.
Mary Lou was a graduate of McKinley High School and enjoyed a fulfilling career before retiring. In her free time, she indulged in hobbies such as reading, solving word jumbles, and watching TV.
She was a woman who loved deeply and was not afraid to show her emotions, even shedding tears over a TV show. Mary was proud to proclaim her faith as a saved and baptized individual.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Farmington Meals on Wheels in memory of Mary Lou.
