Mary Sue Parish's Obituary
Mary Sue Parish, age 95, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away on July 9, 2024, in Bentonville. She was born on January 11, 1929, in Magazine, Arkansas, and grew up in Booneville, Ar. Mary was the daughter of Jeff Davis Grissom and Annie Lee Speer Grissom. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 56 years, Rufus Lamar Parish, and her son, Douglas L. Parish.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Bercher Mart in Fort Smith, in clerical and administrative work for Arkansas Best Corporation and its subsidiaries, including Arkansas Best Freight, Container Carrier Corporation, and USA Truck, Inc. She was considered a loyal and dedicated employee and maintained a spirit of excellence in her profession.
Mary Sue spent time traveling, often exploring new places with her husband. Mary’s greatest joy, however, was reading, studying, and contemplating scripture, accompanied with a deep desire to know God and experience His life within her.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Echols of Rogers; three grandchildren, Steve Parish, and Brad Parish (Donna) of Stephenville, Texas; William Echols (Molly) and Mary Katherine Echols of Rogers, as well as three great-grandchildren: Jacob, Lindsey, and Caleb Parish.
Mary Sue Parish's life will be remembered for her deep love and prayer devotion for her family and others, and her love for sharing scriptural wisdom and her faith in Jesus Christ. She leaves behind cherished memories, often humorous, that will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm July 19, 2024, at Fellowship Bible Church Chapel in Rogers.
Cremation arrangements are under the care of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fellowship Bible Church, Saving Grace of Northwest Arkansas or The Navigators Ministries of Northwest Arkansas, Fellowship Bible Church of NWA.
