Mary 'Pat' Patricia Anderson's Obituary
Mary Pat Anderson of Fayetteville passed away on October 8, 2011 in Fayetteville Ar. Mary Pat was born March 24, 1945 in Newton Kansas to John Benjamin and Mary Marcheta (Walters) Mahaffey.
Mary Pat was an avid reader and enjoyed researching topics that include animal assistance therapy and psychology. She was a social worker and therapist obtaining her bachelors degree from Wichita State University and her Masters from the University of Kansas.
She belonged to the National Association of Social Workers and was a member of CARES (Canine Assistance Rehabilitation and Education Services) where she was involved with the training of assistance dogs.
Mary was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by two sons Mitchel Anderson of Fayetteville, AR. and Travis Anderson of Farmington, AR. one sister Kathleen Vaught of El Dorado, KS. Mary is also survived by two grandchildren Peyton Thorn of Chattanooga, TN. And Justice Bibrowicz of Fayetteville AR.
Memorials can be made out to Washington Regional Hospice or CARES
Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday October 11, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St.Pauls Episcopal Church.
