Mary Margaret Rasori's Obituary
Mary Margaret Rasori passed from this life on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at her home in Winslow, Arkansas. She was born on December 15, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph Gerard and Mary Rita (Cunningham) Shannon. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 44 years, Joseph A. Rasori, her brother Kevin, sister Noreen and brother Joseph.
Mary was raised in Chicago, the eldest of a family of 13 brothers and sisters. Shortly after beginning her working career, she met and married her Joe. Together they relocated to Arkansas, where they became longtime residents. They worked in partnership with Tyson Foods as one of the areas pioneer independent growers in the Fayetteville, Arkansas region. Years later, Mary began a long career with the Arkansas State Parks system, first at Devil’s Den and then at Lake Fort Smith Park from where she eventually retired. Mary was the beloved sister to many brothers and sisters; Kevin Shannon, Noreen (Glen) Rider, Kathleen (Gregory) Krywar, Ellen (Robert) Ford, Terry (Carol) Shannon, Joseph Shannon, Barbara (Mark) Dolan, Nancy (Don) Bouloukos, Michael (Deanna) Shannon, Patricia (Timothy) Finegan, Brian (Tara) Shannon and James (Darla) Shannon. She was a beloved Aunt and Great Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was admired for her loyalty and loved for her never ending upbeat and positive nature. She was a cherished friend and colleague to many in the Winslow and Fayetteville region. Mary will forever be in our thoughts and hearts and she will be dearly missed.
