Mary Ruth Branham's Obituary
Mary Ruth Branham left this life on Wednesday, May 28, 2003 in Fayetteville, Arkansas after a brief illness. She was born to John J. and Mary (Vaughan) Branham in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, on June 6, 1918. She was a minister and evangelist in the Assembly of God Church for forty-four years, receiving her exhorter's permit in 1943, her license to preach in 1945, and her ordination in 1947. From 1945 to 1952 she pastored the West Fork church, from 1957 to 1964 Fayetteville Northside, now known as Fayetteville University Life Assembly, and from 1976 to 1985 Springdale Evangel, now known as Springdale Faith Assembly. In the intervening years she and Pauline Steele crisscrossed the country from Virginia to California as evangelists.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Cecil Branham and John Branham, and her sisters, Gladys Webb, Christine Chandler, and Mildred Parker.
She is survived by her niece Helen Parker Maxwell of Oklahoma City, her nephew Steven Chandler of Pleasanton, California, her niece Carol Parker Hewer of Ridgecrest, California, many great-nieces and great-nephews, and many kind neighbors and friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 1, 2003 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM with the family present to greet friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
Memorials may be made to the Assembly of God Church of your choice.
Private burial will be in the Eureka Springs Cemetery in Eureka Springs, AR.
