Matthew Richard Duffy's Obituary
Matthew Richard Duffy, age 62, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away on October 10, 2023, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born on September 14, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, to Edward Duffy, Sr. and Joanne (Zobel) Duffy. Matthew graduated from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville with a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance. He was a dedicated member of the Theta Chi fraternity during his time at Arkansas Tech University and remained connected with his fraternity brothers throughout his life. Professionally, he worked for Twin Rivers Food Inc.
Matthew was an active and compassionate individual, as demonstrated by his involvement in charitable organizations. He was a proud member and supporter of the Boys and Girls Club, where he dedicated his time and resources to enrich the lives of young people in the community. Matthew actively participated in the Russellville Chamber of Commerce, demonstrating his commitment to the local business community. He generously served as a sponsor and coach for Farmington youth sports. Additionally, he held a significant role as a member of the Signature Bank Board of Directors. In his personal life, he enjoyed spending quality time on Beaver Lake with his children.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Duffy, Sr., and brothers, Edward Duffy, Jr., and Michael Duffy.
Matthew is survived by his children, Jessica Duffy, Jodi Peters, and Matthew Duffy; grandchildren, Hudson Trevathan and Olivia Trevathan; mother, Joanne Duffy; siblings, Julie Duffy Anderson, and Sharon Duffy Katz; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will be hosting a wake on Wednesday, October 18th from 6:00-8:00pm at the Graduate Hotel in Fayetteville. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
