Maurine Anastasia LaMotte's Obituary
Maurine Anastasia LaMotte was born April 24, 1927 in Great Falls, Montana of James Maurice and Anastasia Mary Sabol Fake. She attended the Ursuline Academy in Great Falls through her high school years. She then attended The College of St. Catherine, St. Paul, MN, a Liberal Arts College, securing a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Occupational Therapy in 1948. Her Occupational Therapy Internship at Los Angeles Veterans Administration Center, Brentwood and Veterans Administration Hospital, Van Nuys in California, followed in 1949 at which time she took the national examination qualifying her for registry in the National Occupational Therapy Association. She was Head Occupational Therapist at Mounds Park Hospital in St. Paul for the next year during which time she was married to Norman Francis LaMotte on September 8, 1949. They moved to Glendive, Montana where they engaged in the restaurant business for twenty years. Their business was incorporated with the State of Montana in 1954 as Norine Foods, incorporated until 1970 when Federal Interstate 94 displaced the business location. The decision to further their education culminated in their attending Montana State University beginning the summer of 1970. They have spent the last 16 years living in Fayetteville, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Mary Louise LaMotte.
Maurine is survived by her husband Norman F. LaMotte, son, Thomas LaMotte, of Fayetteville, daughters Lori Ann Morman of Fayetteville, and Teresa Anastasia Carpenter, as well as four grandchildren.
Graveside services are 3 pm, Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with inurnment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund.
