Max David Porter's Obituary
Max David Porter, 76 of Fayetteville, AR passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in Fayetteville. He was born September 4, 1937 in Los Angeles, CA to Marvin and Rosemond (Hagins) Porter.
Max grew up in Carthage, MO. After high school, he attended the University of Arkansas where he earned a B.S.B.A in 1958 and was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. He spent his early adult years in Joplin, MO where he was involved in his family’s car business (Porter Cadillac and Buick, Inc.). Max married the love of his life, Susan Seabough, in 1974. Max and Susan moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1982 where Max continued to work in the car business. Max and Susan retired to Fayetteville in April 2013. Max served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lt. Max was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church, Tulsa, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Julia Porter.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Porter, two daughters, Laura Sampson and husband John of Covington, LA, Allison McCrady and husband Frank of Porter, TX, one son, Craig Shy and wife April of Fayetteville, AR, one brother, Ed Porter of Springfield, MO, ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held 3:30 PM, Thursday, November 14th at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville with Dr. Douglas Falknor officiating.
