Like everyone who knew Melissa, I was sad to learn of her passing. Just so you know, I haven't been in contact with her for over 35 years..yet when I learned of her death, it got my attention. Why? Because we were friends/cohearts during those teenage developmental years. We weren't exactly close friends, but we went to the same junior cotillion dances, and were in the same social circles. The most "unusual" thing that occured during that era, was Melissa's parents having an open house on weekends for the teenagers in the neighborhood. As I now think about it, "the neighborhood" was from the Height's to Cammack Village. We played cards, chess, basketball, drank cokes, and ate doritos/cheese dip. Then at one point I was allowed to bring my drums..yes drums, over to the Campbell's house from time to time, to play along w/the popular music of that era. I played along w/Deep Purple, Grand Funk Railroad, Steppenwolf, Three Dog Night..etc. The point being, that support (encouragement) helped support the path I continued to pursue to a succesful, professional level.
