Melvin "Tiny" Shackelford's Obituary
Melvin “Tiny” Shackelford, age 86, of Fayetteville passed away Tuesday July 28, 2020. He was born November 8, 1933 in Greenland, Arkansas to Oran and Flora Hankins Shackelford. He loved his garden and took a lot of pride in it and his yard. He was a man of his word and well respected by people that knew him. He was a longtime resident of Fayetteville. He retired from the City of Fayetteville in December 2001 after over 22 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents,four sisters, Hazel Wages, Mary Vaughn, Pauline Keeney and Marie Oliver; three brothers, John Shackelford, Wilburn Shackelford and Ernest Shackelford.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Glennis; two stepdaughters, Tina Pritchett of Alabama, Bonnie Phillips of North Carolina; step son, Fred Stroud of Missouri; four step grandchildren, Michael Darling, Brandon Pritchett, Amanda Wieand and Elisha Stuckesbury.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm Thursday July 30, 2020 at Moore’s Chapel. Graveside service will be 10:00 am Saturday August 1, 2020 at Baptist Ford Cemetery under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
