I remember one day at Bitburg AB Germany, the base was going through a week of "war games" 1987-1991? We were all young kids under the control of Mike. We were in our chemical gear and face masks for 8 of our 12 hour shifts. He made the time pass by quickly with Geography questions. State capitals, landmarks, birds, etc..............we would ask and he would answer. Before you knew it, our 12 hour shift was over and he, himself made it happen.
GOLF: I loved golfing with mike. We played in many different Countries. He was the first person to call me "Radar". He said I played too slow, but when I hit the ball, it was mostly on track to radar! Surprisingly, when I left GE to here at Tucson, my bowling team called me Radar because I hardly ever missed a spare shot.
My friend in Heaven, I hope you've found some great golf courses and we can play together again with Ron Nunley also!
See you again my friend!
Mike was a good neighbor to us for many years. We will miss him. Our sincere condolences to all his family.
Mike and I were in High School together. He taught me how to drive a standard on a ‘56 Chevy with “ 3 on the Column.” I lost track of Mike after HS and, while I was saddened to read of his passing, was pleased to see he was career military and had such a large family. As we said in the Marines, Mike was one of the good guys.
