I just learned of Kay's homegoing yesterday. I was in a Sunday School class with Kay at UBC for many years. We usually ended up going out to lunch together where we talked about the Lord, school (I was also a school teacher), children, fashion or anything else that came to mind. I treasured her friendship and was sorry that we somehow lost contact. I tried to reconnect with her when I heard she was ill,but could not find a number for her. I am so sorry. However, she was in my prayers many, many days. I loved her love for Jesus, and her work ethic. She was proud of her family and beamed when she talked about them. I am grateful that I knew her and am 100% sure I will see her again in heaven. My condolences to her family. His power and love will sustain you, and help you through each day. I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. Your grandmother, Mildred Baldwin Gnau was my mother, Lou Anna Shaw Hilton's first cousin. So I have childhood memories of our family visits. I remember when you mother was crowned Miss Hot Springs and her beautiful smile, personality, etc. I admired her beauty and loved the visits with the family. My grandfather, Tommy Shaw and your Great Grandma, Flora Belle Shaw Baldwin were brother and sister. I also have fond memories of your Great Grandparents, and your Grandparents Gnau. I knew Kay at University Baptist Church as one of the sweetest ladies I've known. I didn't recall that she was born on my mother's birthday, or know that she and her mother both had my mother's name. Kay was a wonderfully kind and loving person. I have enjoyed the time we shared our kids with each other and being co-grandmothers together. But most of all I will always treasure her in my heart as my sister in Christ and friend. Lisa and Ross, what a beautiful testimony you are of her love for Christ and her family. Kay was a great lady and precious friend to me....I will miss her terribly. She was an inspiration to me spiritually as she shared her fervent love for Christ every time we talked, and no one could miss how much joy He brought her every day. So sorry to read of Kay's death. Condolences to all of you, especially Reita, Craig and Edward whom I know because of our parents special relationship and Reita's first husband David who was my cousin. Miss you guys. Kay was a special girl who is now blessing Heaven with her beautiful smile.
