The stone-pony has gone to glory. Mrs. Mildred R. Montaque, age 97, passed away of natural causes at her home Monday morning, April 4th. She was born Sept. 15, 1918 at Lansing, AR, the daughter of William G. Huxtable and Porter Lo Read Obituary
My prayers go out to the family of one gracious, loving woman Mrs Mildred Montaque. I have such warm memories of her gentleness and genuine love for others. The annual Christmas card exchange and telephone calls meant much to me. She was a special lady. Faye and the family, trust God and He will comfort you and give you peace.
To the family of Mrs. Montaque, one of my favorite teachers from Wonder Elementary school. She was so kind to all the children in her class and especially to me a child from the poorest section of West Memphis. She always made me feel just as good as anybody else in her class, that's what made her so special. I loved her dearly and even now remember that sweet smile and her gentle touch. God Bless the Montaque family, your Mom was so special, an angle here on earth.

Sending my deepest sympathy to the Montaque family. Mildred and I have had a strong and loving friendship for many wonderful years. We have enhanced each other's lives in so many ways. Our friendship lasted for over seventy-two years. I will miss the letters and occasional phone calls that kept us connected.The many memories formed will be etched in my heart through out my life time. I know the family will miss her, however, I will as well My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.

As one blessed to have her as my 5th Grade Teacher, the notification of her death brings personal sadness, but also stirs up wonderful memories of the one I remember as "The Best Elementary School Teacher at Wonder Elementary." Arkansas has lost a great educator, mentor, coach and remarkable citizen. I pray God's blessing of spiritual strength upon you all during this time of loss.
She lived a long, fulfilled life. I spent many days at her home as a child She was so beautiful, elegant , warm and friendly.
