Morris Eugene "Cotton" Meacham's Obituary
Morris Eugene “Cotton” Meacham, of Tontitown, Arkansas, was born October 14, 1938, in Batesville, Arkansas. After a life marked by faith, family, hard work, and service to others, he entered the presence of his Heavenly Father on June 7, 2026.
Cotton graduated from Batesville High School and Arkansas State Teachers College (now the University of Central Arkansas). He built a successful career with Fairfield Communities, beginning in real estate sales and ultimately retiring as President and Chief Operating Officer.
His Fairfield career began in the late 1960s with the development of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas. He later moved his family to Arizona, where he helped lead the growth of Fairfield Green Valley and Fairfield Continental in Flagstaff. He concluded his career at Fairfield’s corporate headquarters in Little Rock, leaving a lasting impact on the company and the communities it developed.
Cotton married Gail Lynne Meacham on March 7, 1964, and together they built a loving family until her passing on March 15, 1995.
On July 27, 1996, he married Sarita McCall Meacham, and together they shared a remarkable thirty-year adventure. They traveled to state fairs in five states selling their “famous” funnel cakes and lemonade before purchasing and operating Silks a Bloom, a home décor and floral design business that grew from one Little Rock location to three stores. They treasured those years working side by side, earning a living and ministering to customers and coworkers along the way.
Cotton never liked sitting still. Even after selling Silks a Bloom, he continued working in retail and banking because he enjoyed staying busy and connecting with people. In retirement, he spent his time playing golf, visiting family, caring for his yard, and organizing anything he could find—whether it needed organizing or not.
One of Cotton’s greatest joys was serving at Cross Pointe Community Church in Tontitown, where he faithfully cared for the church grounds. He took pride in helping make God’s house beautiful and welcoming.
A devoted Razorback fan, Cotton rarely missed a game and loved cheering on the Hogs both from home and in Fayetteville. His love for Arkansas remained a constant throughout his life.
More than any title he held or accomplishment he achieved, Cotton will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His kind heart, strong work ethic, honest character, and deep love for family defined his life. He often reminded those he loved, “You need to relax.”
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sarita McCall Meacham; his children, Melissa Holman (Stephen), Allen Meacham (Betsy), and Marcy Neeley (Curtis); his grandchildren, Emily Wilson, Lindsey Holman Boeken (Hunter), Hannah Meacham, Kathryn Meacham Lenhert (Austin), Natalie Meacham, Abagail West, and McKinley West; and his great-grandchildren, Parker and Harper Boeken.
Though we miss him deeply, we rejoice in the assurance of his faith and take comfort in knowing he is now fully at peace—and forever “relaxed”—in the presence of Jesus.
A memorial service will be held, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Cross Pointe Community Church in Tontitown. There will be a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 12, 2026, at Cross Pointe Community Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family request a donation to Cross Pointe Community Church, 1174 W. Henri de Tonti Blvd Tontitown, AR 72762.
