Myrtle Mae Browning's Obituary
Myrtle Mae Browning went to be with he Lord an Savior on Sunday, December 24, 2006, with her sisters by her bedside at North Hills Life Care and Rehab. She peacefully left this life accompanied by a host of angels who escorted her to Heaven a place she long waited to inhabit.
Myrtle (Babe-o) was born August 28, 1921 in Muskogee, OK, to Herschel and Elizabeth Nell Browning. She graduated from Muskogee Beauty College in 1938 and worked in the Officer's Club at Camp Gruber during WWII serving the 88th Rainbow and Black Hawk Divisions. The family moved to Fayetteville in the 1940's and then to Glendale, CA, returning to Fayetteville in 1986 after 24 years in California.
Myrtle's life centered on her God, her family, and her church. She enjoyed many hobbies, especially crafting beautiful rugs. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Springdale where she participated in the Music Ministry, Senior Adult Bible Studies, and did some volunteer services with her many Christian Friends.
Mryle Marie Jordan, her twin, survives, along with sister Ruth Lea Hunt; a nephew, James R. Hunt, and wife, Margaret; great nephews Robert Hunt (Janelle), Andrew Hunt, (Pamela) great nieces Lisa Lovell, (Mark), and Leslie Samples (Daniel), along with eleven great-great nieces and nephews and a number of cousins and friends.
The family extends their profound thanks to Dr. Roger Montgomery and his staff for their compassionate watch care over Myrtle for many years, and to the staff of North Hills Life Care who made her life rich and full over the past two years, as well as to Charlie Foster, Joe Dorman and Ken Stone of her church for their visits and encouragements.
A memorial service celebrating Myrtle?s life will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 28, 2006, at North Hills Life Care, 27 Appleby, Fayetteville, Arkansas, with Pastors; Charlie Foster, Joe Dorman and Rob Hunt officiating. A private interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
The family has requested that any memorials be directed to the First Baptist Church, Fayetteville, for the World Missions Fund, as Myrtle had requested.
