Nancy Brown's Obituary
Nancy Brown, age 77, of Northwest Arkansas, passed away on March 14, 2024, in Cave Springs, Arkansas, surrounded by her family that meant everything to her. She was born on March 16, 1946, in Fairmont, West Virginia, to Retired Col. Lawrence G. Brown and Ruth Tederick Brown. Nancy grew up in a military family and traveled all over the world. During her travels, she was afforded many unique opportunities and a worldly education. Nancy later graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1964 and from the University of Arkansas in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree in history. Nancy worked as a schoolteacher for many years, before staying home to take care of her two daughters, Laura and Carrie. When circumstances required it, she went back to school and trained to work as an office manager.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Col. Lawrence Brown (Ret.) and Ruth Brown.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, Laura Painter of Cave Springs, Arkansas, and Carrie Cottone and Jason Cottone of Covington, Louisiana, and grandchildren, Willow, Ian, Bruce, and William.
