Nettie Florence Courtney's Obituary
Nettie Florence Courtney, age 90, of Fayetteville, AR passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020 at the Maples in Springdale, AR. She was born March 4, 1930 in Prairie Grove, AR to Charles and Lettie Pitts Unger. She was preceded in death by her husband Glen Courtney; one daughter, Cheryl Courtney; two sons, Gerald Courtney and David Courtney and a great-granddaughter Holland Courtney. She is survived by her son, Ronald Courtney of Fayetteville; two daughters-in-law, Deonn Courtney and Veldia Rideout; eleven grandchildren, Brent Courtney, Ashley Courtney, Matthew Courtney and wife Alicia, Cheri Kimbel and husband Rob, Melanie Bedogne and husband Jason, Kristina Courtney, Katrina Kesner and husband Anson, Hunter Courtney, Shelby Courtney, Kelley Austin and husband Jake, and Zacc Arnold; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were loved deeply.
Nettie's faith and trust in Jesus characterized her life. She was a faithful member of Hyland Park Assembly of God in Fayetteville. She spent much of her working career at Dennis Home Furnishings and Dennis Appliance and TV. Her working relationship with the Dennis family was one she cherished deeply.
All who knew her loved her. Nettie's strength and dedication to her family were hallmarks of her life. She will be remembered always as one who gave her best to those she loved, an example of a precious life well lived.
A celebration of her life will take place on Thursday, October 29 at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville, with a visitation starting at 1 p.m. and service at 2 p.m., followed by a graveside service at Baptist Ford Cemetery in Greenland.
