Nora Lou Lonon Hasty's Obituary
Nora Lou Lonon Hasty, 89, of Fayetteville died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 in Springdale. She was born May 9, 1924, in Galena, Kansas the daughter of John Thomas Clark and Lillian Russell Clark.
She was a cadet nurse at St Vincent’s Infirmary in Little Rock and a nurse at Bull Shoals Dam during the construction. She worked in public health from 1952 through 1963 including serving as county health nurse for Marion County for 10 years, and also was employed by the VA Hospital in Fayetteville for 22 years before retiring in 1985. She was a member of Christian Life Cathedral in Fayetteville and a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lenior “Lynde” Lonon in 1964 and Charles Hasty in 2006.
Survivors include 2 sons, Tommy Lonon of Fayetteville, Bill Lonon of Springdale; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2014 at Christian Life Cathedral in Fayetteville under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with burial following in Fayetteville National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4p.m. on Sunday at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.
