Norma "Jeane' Wynne Randle's Obituary
Norma “Jeane” Wynne Randle, 96, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on November 21,1923 to parents Bernice Edwinna Winn and William Joseph Winn. She was raised by her parents, and beloved grandmother, Rose Baer “Nonnie” Johnson, all of Little Rock. Jeane departed this life on January 13, 2020 at the Willard Walker Hospice House, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Jeane was a graduate of Little Rock Central High School. She met David Sloan Wells Randle when she was 13 and they dated throughout High School. During WWII, David was sent overseas and served as a navigator on a B-17. He was shot down over Germany and held captive as a POW from December 1, 1943 until his liberation on May 1, 1945. During the war, Jeane also served her country as the Secretary for the Planning Manager at the Arkansas Ordinance Plant in Jacksonville, Arkansas. At war’s end, Jeane and David were married on December 21, 1945 in Little Rock. They were the parents of three children, Robyn, Kimberly and David.
During their married life of 69 years, the Randles lived in Lansing, Michigan; Little Rock and Fort Smith, Arkansas; and eventually settled in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 1957, where Jeane and David owned and operated Ranco Building Supply for 30 years. Jeane and David were long-time members of Central United Methodist Church, where Jeane was active in the UMW Circle of Faith, and volunteered to lead numerous other activities and events. Jeane enjoyed travel, bridge, gardening, entertaining, and above all, her treasured family and cherished friends. She was also a member of the Junior Civic League, the Fayetteville Garden Club, Fayetteville Town Club, the Fayetteville Country Club, and most recently, resided at Butterfield Trail Village.
Jeane was a beautiful woman both inside and out to all who knew and loved her. Her gracious, caring nature touched the hearts and nurtured the lives of many. She will be greatly missed by both family and friends. Jeane was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; her husband, David; her brother, William J. Wynne II of El Dorado, Arkansas; and her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Bob Chappell of Conway, Arkansas. She is survived by her children, Robyn Randle Faucette (Keith) of Cherry Lake, Florida; Kimberly Jeane Randle of Fayetteville, Arkansas; David Wynne Randle (Brenda) of Memphis, Tennessee; as well as three adored granddaughters, Wynne, Willow and Hannah; and 7 great-grandchildren, Alex, Robyn, Margaret, Jude, Daniel, J.J. and Cristiana of Fayetteville; and two dear nieces and their families, Nancy Peitrantoni (John) of Vestavia, Alabama; and Cheri Alexander (Kevin) of Conway, Arkansas.
Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, January 16th, from 5-7 p.m. at Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville.
