When I was little, I spent the summer up at Granny and Popo’s house. We watched some fireworks from the back porch for Independence Day, spent most Fridays swimming at the YMCA, and the weekdays burying my nose in Bluebird Books with Granny teaching me how to read. Most mornings, Granny would have her famous homemade toast ready for breakfast for us (always with her coffee!).
