Nunzio Nick Capito's Obituary
Son of Italian immigrants, Nunzio (Nick) Capito was born in Warren, Ohio, on February 1, 1932. He was preceded in death by his parents, Giacomo and Nicoletta Capito, and his sisters, Grace and Mary, as well as his brothers, George and Mike.
Nick joined the Air Force at age 17. He served in the 97th Bomb Wing, Strategic Air Command as a Boom operator, during the Vietnam and Korean Wars. After service 20 years in the Air Force, he worked as a plant electrician at Remington Arms in Lonoke, Arkansas.
In his retirement, he moved to Fairfield Bay, where he honed his skills on the golf course. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling, and obtained a black belt in Taekwondo. He was passionate about rockwork and landscaping.
Nick never met a stranger and took joy in making people laugh.
Nick passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Verna; three children, Linda (Randy) Kostelecky, David (Dee), and Gino; grandchildren Angela, Nicole, Anna, Emily, and Tony; and one great-grandchild Roman; along with beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 7, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville, with Funeral Service starting at 12:30 PM. Graveside service with Military Honors will follow at 1:30 PM at Fayetteville National Cemetery under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
