Oleta Marie (Pinkerton) Nash's Obituary
Oleta Marie (Pinkerton) Nash, age 88, of Fayetteville passed from this life September 3, 2020. She was born February 7, 1932 in Umpire, Arkansas to Fletcher E. and Gladys M. Pinkerton.
Oleta married Robert (Bob) V. Nash June 21, 1952. She has one son, Steven D. Nash of Fayetteville. Mrs. Nash is survived by Bob and Steve; four brothers, R.H. (Joyce) Pinkerton of Umpire, Arkansas, Ralph (Connie) Pinkerton of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Dwight (Kay) Pinkerton of De Queen, Arkansas and Garry (Debbie) Pinkerton also of De Queen, and one sister Wanda (Bob) Rice of Waynesboro, Tennessee.
Oleta attended Southern Arkansas University, Texas Wesleyan university, North Texas State University and T.C.U. She interrupted her college education to marry and have a family. After working eleven years as a secretary during the day and attending college at night, she received her degree and fulfilled her dream of becoming a teacher. She taught at a variety of places before settling at Trinity High School in Euless, Texas. She taught at Umpire, Arkansas High School and Haltom High and LD bell high in Texas. As an Arkansas native, upon retirement she and her family settled in Fayetteville in 1994. She is an active member of First Baptist Church in Fayetteville. Oleta is an avid Razorback fan. She called them loud and clear.
