Leonard And Everta Cannafax (Leonard Worked For Morris And Everta Worked For Op)
We've been invited to Morris and Opal's many times for scrumptuous dinners. When Opal served up a piece of her coconut cream pie, it was too big to fit on the little dessert saucer! We first met them through Butch Robertson. Butch told Leonard about a job opening with Morris at the filling station. Leonard started working for Morris in 1975. We had a motorcycle and would ride it to locations around Northwest Arkansas to pick up Uhaul trucks. We'd ride together and then each drive a truck back with the cycle loaded in the back of one of them. Morris always thought that was just pretty clever to get two trucks with one trip. Then we joined the Air Force and left the area for several years. When we came back, we went to visit in October of 1983. Opal was not very happy about the new computer system at Sweetser. She didn't think highly of it and wanted to bring the books up-to-date manually. She asked me to help her out through the end of the year. It is now 2005 and I'm still there! She always thought that was funny. I always visited her on her birthday. She was a hard worker. She loved her family and always talked about her precious daughter and granddaughters. I always loved to look at her pictures when I was in her home.
