Orville E. Taylor's Obituary
Orville E. Taylor, age 96, of Springdale, died Friday, April 4, 2014 in Springdale. He was born October 11, 1917 in Baldwin, Arkansas, the son of Frank W. and Argie Tankersley Taylor. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Elbert Taylor, Carl Taylor, Ralph Taylor and Leroy Taylor.
He was a member of the C.C.C. camp from 1936-1938 and the Army National Guard from 1939-1941. He was a World War II Army veteran 1942-1945 coming home from the Philippines three days before Christmas in 1945. He was a member of Turner Street Baptist Church in Springdale.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Taylor; five step-children, Sharon Lockhart of Huntsville, Alabama, Debra Lynn of Longmont, Colorado, Bryan Lynn of Pace, Florida, Richard Lynn of Winslow, Arkansas and Steven Lynn of Houston, Texas; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2014 at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Moore’s Chapel with Rev. Tim Reddin officiating and followed by burial in Fayetteville National Cemetery.
