Oscar Dunaway's Obituary
Oscar Guy Dunaway, age 104, died Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in Fayetteville. He was born May 21, 1914 in Thorney Creek, Arkansas, the son of Thomas Albert and Mary A. Riggins Dunaway. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Mae Dunaway and four brothers, Noah, Olin, Everett and Calvin Dunaway.
He was a carpenter and a member and deacon of Richland Primitive Baptist Church. He was a United States Army veteran.
He is survived by three daughters, Alma Turner of Fayetteville, Imogene Moppin and her husband Darrell of Elkins, Joyce Smith and her husband James of Little Rock; a son, Darrell Dunaway and his wife Cheryl of Elkins; a sister, Wilma Vanlandingham of Elkins; ten grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Friday at Richland Baptist Church followed by burial at Mount Olive Cemetery, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
