Oscar was always quiet about his military service but when I started college and was majoring in American Studies, I asked him if I could talk to him and learn more about the Pacific Campaign. He decided to talk to me and we spent a wonderful afternoon talking about what he remembered. I am forever blessed to have had this experience.
