Patricia Brown's Obituary
Patricia O’Brien Brown, 91, born in Elko, Nevada, on May 21, 1930, passed away on March 13, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lola Ella Whitmire O’Brien and Joseph O’Brien, and her husband of 52 years, Albert William Brown.
Pat was survived by her daughter, Shawna Lynne Brown of Dallas, Texas, and her grandsons, Alexander James Kaiser and Adam Ross Kaiser, of Denver, Colorado. She is also survived by her two sisters-in-law, Fleeta Mae Gentry of Springdale, Arkansas, and Peggy Joann Barth of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and cousins, Allyn Dee Reed of California, Nyoka Kelton and Jessie Candlish of Oregon, and Don Whitmire of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Pat graduated from Prairie Grove High School in 1947 and attended Fayetteville Business College. She worked as a legal secretary (with perfect shorthand) for many years, including for Ulysses Lovell and Odell Taylor of Springdale. Her career also included working in a tomato canning factory after World War II, and working at the University of Arkansas Library, Utley Realty, and Bear Brand Hosiery.
Pat was active in First Church in Springdale and was a member of the Builders Class. After retirement, she also volunteered at the Bread of Life Pantry for 15 years.
She enjoyed traveling, boating, and water skiing, with her husband, Al. She loved crossword puzzles and playing cards with the family. She had many friends at the Springdale Senior Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Springdale Senior Center or First Church, Springdale, Arkansas.
Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2022, at First United Methodist Church in Springdale, followed by a funeral service starting at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Hester Cemetery in Fayetteville.
