Patrick Edward Pinnell's Obituary
Patrick Edward Pinnell, 73, of Fayetteville, was received into God’s hands August 18, 2010 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. Patrick was born September 22, 1936 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was the son of Theodore Raymond Pinnell and Patrick Harlan Hughes Pinnell Rincon.Pat, who was a general contractor, owned and operated Pinnell, Inc., for over 35 years. Until cancer began taking his strength and energy, he was passionate about getting up every day and putting in a hard day’s work. He was not only passionate about work, but he put passion into every undertaking and everything he loved which included his family and friends, his church, this country, travel, taking in abandoned or stray cats and dogs, playing computer poker, reading historical books, or discussing politics. He proudly served in the Navy and Marines and was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, serving on the Westark Area District Committee during the mid 1980s and early 1990s. He was an active member of New Hope United Methodist Church and with his beautiful voice, sang in the choir and blessed the congregation with his solos. As his sister, Carolyn, wrote to him to express her love, she summed up Pat’s life experience. She said, “I always felt that you were so ‘comfortable in your own skin’ and that takes such self-confidence. You continuously lived your life ‘in the moment’ and I loved that about you. You’re the only person I have ever personally known who was ‘larger than life’ in my opinion………you never failed to take my breath away!” He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Twania Pinnell of the home, two sons Patrick Edward Pinnell II of Fayetteville, Randall Charles Pinnell and his wife Melody of Carson City, Nevada, one daughter Christol Anne Pinnell of Fort Smith, one step-son John Dell James and his wife, Shelly of Fayetteville, one grandson, Randall Charles Pinnell, Jr., three step-granddaughters, Alexa Raye James of Springdale, Taylor White of Fayetteville and Kaitlyn White of Gentry, three sisters Leone Laubach and her husband Forrest of Huntington, Harriet Griffith of Fort Smith, Carolyn James and her husband Don of Springdale, one brother Jack Rincon and his wife Diana of Greer, South Carolina and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Fredrick John Rincon, and niece Carin Laubach. Visitation will be Friday, August 20th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 21, 2010 at New Hope United Methodist Church, 1339 Oak Grove Road, Van Buren, Arkansas. Pat’s nephew, David Laubach will play Taps following a military tribute.Pallbearers are Richard Daugherty, Eddie Hanson, John Dell James, Bob Neidecker, Gene Neidecker, and Bill Vickery. Following the graveside military tribute, David Laubach, Pat’s nephew, will play taps. Flowers are welcome, but memorial gifts may be made to Hew Hope United Methodist Church, Van Buren, Arkansas, or Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.
