Patsy 'Corky' Ganell Parker's Obituary
Patsy G. Parker
Patsy Ganell “Corky” Parker passed away in Fayetteville on Monday, November 28,2011, surrounded by her family. Corky, the only child of Ruby Celeste Stewart and David Joseph Feibleman, was born in Hollywood, California on August 22, 1933.
Corky grew up in Fayetteville, living above her mother’s restaurant, the G & R Café, on Dickson Street and graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1952. She kept in touch with her closest friends from high school and they shared many fun and happy times together camping, dancing, traveling, or just laughing.
Corky was a loving and generous woman, who supported her family in everything they did. She worked at J.C. Penney for over 35 years, and enjoyed using her associate’s discount to spoil her children and grandchildren.
Corky was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Dave. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Billy Eugene Parker, Sr.; three children and their spouses, Bill Parker, Jr., and his wife, Penny, of Glen Rose, Texas; Debbie McLoud and her husband, Mason, of Fayetteville; and Brett Parker and his wife, Julie, of Fayetteville. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Parker McLoud of Crested Butte, Colorado; Kaylin McLoud and Jack Parker of Fayetteville, and many cousins and dear friends.
Corky Parker was happiest when she was spending time with her family and friends. We will miss her.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 30th, at Sequoyah Methodist Church, 1910 N. Old Wire Road in Fayetteville beginning at 1:00 p.m under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway #1509, New York, New York 10018 and that you send a greeting card to someone you love. Corky loved cards.
