Patsy Ann Green's Obituary
Patsy Ann Green, age 87, of Fayetteville, AR, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025. “Pat” was born on August 18, 1937, in North Little Rock, AR, a daughter of Clifford “Bill” Blasingame and Willie Ora Bass Blasingame. Pat graduated from North Little Rock High School, Class of 1957, and attended Ouachita Baptist University, where she met her husband of 56 years, Grant Elbert Green, who was completing his ROTC program. Shortly after the two were married, Pat accompanied Grant on the first of two tours of duty to Germany and the many stateside assignments thereafter. She greatly enjoyed being a military wife and traveled extensively with her husband during his 22 years of service in the US Army.
Pat obtained her Masters Degree in Education in 1978 and loved working as a teacher, retiring from J.O. Kelly Middle School, in Springdale, Ark, in 2012. She also had a love for music, played the piano and had a beautiful singing voice. She greatly enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s many recitals, sports events and graduations. Her love of the family’s dogs, horses, a cat and bird kept her busy as well. After her husband died, Pat moved to Butterfield Trail Village in Fayetteville, Ark, where she discovered she could play a mean game of ping pong, had a talent for ceramics and word puzzles and enjoyed a whole new host of friends and companions. She attended Fellowship Bible Church in Lowell, Arkansas, and Bible study fellowship for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Willie Blasingame, by her husband Grant E. Green, and by her brother, Billy Edward Blasingame of Alma, Arkansas.
She is survived by her three children, Sherril Lynn Green of Fayetteville, Ark (spouse Stephen Turner), Grant William Green of Springdale Arkansas (spouse Margaret “Meg” Green), Sandra Elizabeth Morrow of Mooresville, NC (spouse Richard Morrow); her sister, Linda Newton of Fayetteville, Ark, and by nine grandchildren: Brooke, Jonathan and Braden Morrow, Haley (Pekel), Erin, Clare and Grant Jackson Green, William and Annah Turner, and four great-grandchildren: Ellis and Josie Pekel, Connor and John Preston Morrow.
Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Monday, June 30, at Nelson Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Funeral services follow at 10:00 a.m. also at Nelson Berna with committal service at the Fayetteville National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to The Washington County Lester C. Howick Animal Shelter, 801 W. Clydesdale Drive, Fayetteville, Ark, and to Circle of Life, Fayetteville, Ark.
