Like others I have wonderful memories of 3rd grade at Asbell. Mrs. Fox brought out the best in everyone! Full of character and class! With deepest sympathy! (Third Grade Class of 1982)
The mention of Penny Fox brings great memorie to our family, especially my three children who were fortunate enough to be in her class at Asbell. She set a high standard that few educators are able to achieve. She made learning a joy, kids had a better sense of self worth after being in her class. Penny was a gracious lady and an example for many as well as educators to follow. I am reminded of a thought about priorities, It won't matter in a hundred years from now how big my house was or how much wealth I accumlated, how fancy my car was or what honors I received, but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child. I believe the world is and will be better because Penny Fox was impoartant in the lives of many children. We and the community share your loss. May the Lord surround you with peace. Tory and Family - I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. She was such a grand lady. I have many fond memories of chatting with her and your dad. And no matter what our adventure, she always had a laugh and smile for us. And plenty of cookie dough. My heartfelt condolences, you are all in my thoughts and prayers. In the bonds always.
Dear Tory and family,We would like to express our deepest sympathy in the loss of you loved one. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Mrs.Fox was my third grade teacher at Asbell Elementary. She was loving and always made me feel like I was her favorite student. She made every student feel that way. I feel sure she was my inspiration to become a teacher myself. As the years passed, I was astounded and deeply touched when she came to my wedding! Upon the birth of each of my children, I received a card of congratulations. She touched my life in so many ways. I 'm sure there will be a special in heaven for this wonderful lady.
I am sorry for the loss of such a wonderful woman. I know that you will miss her dearly. Mrs. Fox was one of my favorite teachers. I remember so much about third grade. She helped us create our own business by selling shares in our company, Kite Day Poppers, (Ill never forget the song to the tune of 'A Spoonful of Sugar'), taking us up the bank, and selling popcorn at school. I clearly remember her being so impressed that I used the word 'enormous' one day. We were always delighted when Tory came to visit. Mrs. Fox was one of the reasons I loved learning and continue to do so. I'm so glad that she played a part in my life. Thank you for sharing her with us. (Third grade class of 1974)
I never had the pleasure of meeting Penny Fox, but I know and work with her daughters Jeanie and Tory who are wonderful, caring and professional ladies. They are a lasting tribute to a wonderful mother's loving care. You have my deepest sympathy for your loss. Hang in there! May God give you comfort during this stressful and upsetting time!
Penny Fox was a bright star in a golden era of public education in Fayetteville. She was a leader and innovator in her field, and left a wonderful legacy of lives touched through her own classroom and those of fellow professionals who benefited from her expertise. Our mothers enjoyed a great friendship, both as colleagues, and as fellow parents.
Penny was one of our favorites--
