Pete was a wonderful man and a very good friend to me and my husband, Craig. We had such fun talking Olympics, gymnastics and ice skating. Craig and I often tell people about the time that we all went to Clute, TX for the triathelon competition. Pete and Craig ran the 5 mile run, Louis Vetrano did the 20 mi. bike ride and Bob Hansen swam the mile. We had a great time. I know I will miss Pete very much and can not imagine what you his family are feeling. You are definitely in my prayers. I have had some loss of family and from my own heart I can only say that you never get over the pain, you only get used to it being there. Love to you all.

Dear Chiqui,
Anita and I are very sorry to learn that Per is gone from this world that he always seemed to ride so gently and gracefully. I see him in my minds eye loping like a cougar alongside of my jog when we ran together somewhere on the shore of Lake Michigan, now many years ago. My mother and father, Frida and Johannes, retired from Chicago to live west of Fayetteville near Farmington, in 1952. They also are now gone. Memories are left. Love, Torben and Anita

Per has been important to me since your family moved to Mallard Lane and we shared the turbulent and exciting 60's and 70's. His caring and gentle nature always inspired me and seemed to lend a sense of calm to my adolesence. I remember many afternoons shared with Chris and my mom while our dads were at work, but it was always fun to talk to Per about current events, life in other countries, and how to keep the Volvo running. Our Volvos are now 19 and 11 years old so I must have learned something. Even though we have seen so little of each other through the years, I know that our family friendship will always be strong. I am so glad to have had time with Per and Chris at my parent's anniversary party where Per looked the same as ever - robust and smiling. Pete's life was a gift from God and that's why he was such a wonderful person to know. His love for others was apparent from the moment we met him. He had a wonderful smile and demeanor. We were fortunate to know Pete through Dixie and Fred and every time that we had a chance to talk it was evident that he was a very caring and fun person. Through all the things that Dixie and Fred have said about Pete through the years I know that he was a treasure to Chiqui ,to his family and to all who knew him. Chiqui, we give thanks for the beautiful times that you and Pete had together and we pray that his love for you and his family will carry you through the coming years. You are in our prayers.

To hear of Per's passing was such a sorrow for us. Our friendship with Per and his family goes back many years to
Deerfield. We have watched all our children grow up and become beautiful adults. We have not been fortunate enough to live near each other for some years now, but the times we have had together will always be remembered with joy. I loved his smile, his quiet sweeetness and consideration, his intelligence, but most of all, I (Chick) will miss his warm hugs. Per was a special man, you can see this in his wonderful family. Our sincere condolences to all the family and if there is anything we can do to ease your pain, we will always be there for you. Our love to you Chris, we know you will always have Per with you, as will we.
