Perry Andrew Wilson Jr's Obituary
Perry Andrew "Drew" Wilson Jr. of Fayetteville died peacefully on October 7, 2025, after a battle with lung cancer. Drew was born in Natchez, Mississippi, on June 18, 1953, to Perry Andrew Wilson Sr. and Mary Agnes Wilson. He spent the first 19 years of his life growing up in Ferriday, Louisiana, with his four younger siblings. He swam, water skied, helped in the garden at his grandparents’ farm, hunted squirrels, doves and deer with his dad and brother, and traveled with his dad in the summer to work construction and earn money for college. At age 19, he married and moved to Fayetteville, where his parents took jobs running a nursing home and continued raising his two younger sisters. Drew attended college at Louisiana Tech and then studied business at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He worked at Sears in retail and then was recruited to sell insurance. His career was spent working for Allstate Insurance Company. He enjoyed raising his two children and participating in all their sports and other activities. Throughout his life, he had fun attending sporting events at the university and cheering for the Razorbacks, watching televised sports with friends, golfing at Paradise Valley, hunting deer with his buddies every fall, playing water volleyball with friends every Sunday during summer each year, fishing, canoeing (he had big adventures with friends canoeing and camping on the Rio Grande, the Buffalo River, and other rivers), attending music festivals, bicycling, photography and playing disc golf with buddies, as well as reading a good book. Drew made friends easily, he smiled a lot, and he enjoyed telling stories and making people laugh. He loved his friends, and he had a lot of them. He frequented George’s Happy Hours for many years. Drew loved a good beer and lively conversation with other regulars like himself at West Mountain on the downtown square in Fayetteville. He cherished his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his partner, Kerry Anne Duck, his son Brandon Wilson, daughter Kelli Logan (Dalan), and three grandsons: Blake Wilson, Jace Logan, and Kael Logan. As well as his brother Joey Wilson (San Francisco), and sisters Amy and Susie Wilson (Fayetteville, AR). Brother Bruce Wilson died three years ago. A 6pm visitation and 7pm memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 16, at Moore's Chapel Funeral Home, 206 W. Center St., Fayetteville, AR. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to Buffalo River Watershed Alliance or another environmental organization that’s involved in protecting water resources.
